There are lots of reasons why investors might seek an income stream from their investments, for example to augment a pension or replace income that you would have received if you’re no longer working.

Income investors are looking for extra income on top of any existing money they receive. This can be generated from investments that make regular payments such as shares that pay dividends or bonds that pay interest.

If you require regular income you can invest in a fund or an investment trust that pays out dividends from the companies it invests in or interest from bonds. Good income investing is putting together a collection of assets like shares in companies, bonds and real estate that generate the highest possible annual income at a reasonable risk level.

Or you could put your money in an investment fund or trust which does this for you.
